Chrysler - New 2012 Jeep Wrangler Paint Issues

648 of 790 Chrysler reviews

Purchased a brand new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Color is black, Grey primer is showing in 21 places.Current Milage is 30.

Dealership and paint shops state vehicle should be replaced and should have never passed inspection. Chrysler warranty administration manager wants it fixed, No one would want their brand new vehicle taken apart and patch painted in 21 places 16 different areas front to back.

Dealership will not even take in trade as they can not sell to anyone like it is, But sold it to me!

This continues - bought 2013 Sahara 2 weeks ago - at night. noticed primer around ALL hinges next day in the sun. When brought to dealer the GM parked 2 other Saharas next to mine, all had the same issue. His comment,"it's just how they come". REALLY!? When I told him this was unexceptable, he said he would contact Warranty rep - waiting for work

So the dealership is giving you issues and you're blaming chrysler? Have you contacted them yet about it?

More to the point, why did you NOT notice these primer areas before buying the vehicle? They seem obvious enough in the photos, they'd be bright as the sun on the dealership lot.

The primer under the hinges is well documented for the JK generation Wrangler. Jeep assembles the bodies to a point before spraying them. However, the tailgate and windshield frame areas are unusual.

i bought a 2010 wrangler new and have the same issues with the paint. i did complain directly to jeep but never heard anything back from them. primer is visible in several areas (body seams, behind door hinges just to name a few places )especially in direct sunlight. i thought they would have this problem fixed by now by now. hope you get your situation resolved.

Sorry to hear. I live in Toledo where the Jeeps are made. Name some names...I'll take care of them for ya! (winks)
